Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups strong brewed espresso cooled
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese softened
  • ¾ cup heavy whipping cream cold
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder for dusting
  • 2 tablespoons Marsala wine optional

Instructions

  • Brew strong espresso and allow it to cool completely.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks with sugar until pale and creamy.
  • Gently mix the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form.
  • Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
  • Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso (and Marsala wine if using) and arrange them in a single layer in a baking dish.
  • Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked ladyfingers.
  • Repeat the layering process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  • Dust the top generously with cocoa powder.
  • Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  • Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, allow Tiramisu to chill overnight for deeper flavors. Use high-quality espresso and mascarpone for the most authentic taste. If making ahead, dust with cocoa powder just before serving to avoid a soggy top.
